Come is one of the most important commands you can teach your dog as it has the potential to save his life one day.

The first step to come is to choose a new word.
Once you have chosen the word, say it and give your dog his “winning lottery ticket”.(the treat we discussed in class) Repeat this in different rooms of the house and around the yard. Once you have practiced that for a couple of days, try it with your dog across the room or about 5 or 10 feet away. Now the dog has to come to you to get the “lotto ticket”. Just give the command with out setting things up first. Practice that everywhere in the house and yard for a few days or a week.

Remember the goal is to make it more fun to come to you than to do anything else in the world. Use a really happy voice and lots and lots of praise.
